Data deletion

Delete your profile and data

You do not need to ask permission or wait for us. Deletion is built into the app and takes effect immediately. This page walks through it and then sets out, without hedging, which data the deletion covers and which it does not.

Effective 19 August 2026 · App: M44 Wallet · Publisher: SG Mobile Designs

Before you start

M44 Wallet has no accounts — no email, no password, just an anonymous identifier created on your device the first time you open the app. That has one consequence worth knowing before you tap the button: deletion is permanent and there is no recovery path. We cannot restore your profile, points, badges or match history afterwards, because we have no way to identify you once the record is gone. If you only want to disappear from the player map, switching your public profile off does that and is reversible.

Delete it from the app

The steps are the same on iPhone, iPad and Android.

  1. Open M44 Wallet and go to Connect.
  2. Open your Profile.
  3. Scroll to Delete profile and data at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap Delete Profile and Data, then confirm at the Delete profile permanently? prompt.

The deletion runs immediately, with no waiting period and nothing for us to approve. Your public player record, your private profile and notification settings, and your entry in the display-name registry are removed, your locally stored data is cleared, and the anonymous identity itself is deleted.

If you cannot find the option, you may be on an older build — update the app from the App Store or Google Play, or email us and we will delete the record for you.

If you have already deleted the app

Uninstalling does not delete your server-side profile, so a stale pin can linger on the map. Email us with the display name and region you used and we will remove it. Be aware we cannot verify ownership of an anonymous profile from an email alone, so if the details you give do not match a record clearly enough, we may have to decline rather than risk deleting someone else’s data.

Exactly what is removed

Deleting your profile covers the following
DataOutcomeStatus
Public player record Display name, approximate location, availability, messaging preference, points, streak and rank. Your pin disappears from the map. Deleted
Private profile Your contact detail, private notes, and the place name you typed. Deleted
Notification settings Nearby-alert preference, radius, stored position and push token. Notifications stop. Deleted
Display name registry entry Removed, freeing the name for someone else. Deleted
Anonymous identity The Firebase anonymous user is deleted outright. Deleted
On-device data Local settings and cached content are cleared. Uninstalling removes the rest. Deleted

What deletion does not reach

We would rather tell you this plainly than let you discover it later.

Retained after deletion, and why
DataWhy it staysStatus
Direct messages you sent Messages are permanent by design so conversations cannot be rewritten after the fact. They stay in the recipient’s conversation, attributed to your former identifier, which no longer resolves to a profile. Retained
Global chat messages Not removed by deletion, but the whole room is automatically purged on a rolling 7-day cycle, so they clear themselves within a week. Clears in 7 days
In-game room chat and moves Part of your opponent’s game record. Retained
Battle Tips comments They form the shared strategy reference other players rely on, so profile deletion leaves them in place. You can delete your own comments individually — do that first if you want them gone. Delete these first
Match log and badges Not always cleared by the automated flow. These were only ever visible to you. Ask us and we will purge them. On request
Event listings you organised Other players may have RSVP’d, so these are not swept up automatically and they do not expire on their own. If a listing includes your address, delete the event before you delete your profile — afterwards you will no longer be able to, and we will have to do it for you. Delete these first
Purchase history Held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat, not by us. They keep transaction records to meet tax and accounting obligations, and we cannot delete them on your behalf. Not ours
Copies of your display name Your name was copied alongside each message you sent, each invitation, each event you created, and each game room you joined, so those copies remain in other players’ records even though your profile is gone. Retained
Backups and logs Deleted records may persist briefly in provider backups and operational logs before rotating out, normally within 30 days. Up to 30 days

Want the retained items gone too?

Email sean.gambles@gmail.com with the subject Delete my data and say which items you mean. Where the data is ours to delete and we can identify it, we will remove it and confirm — usually within 7 days, always within 30. Where it belongs to Apple, Google or RevenueCat, we will tell you so rather than leave you waiting.

Deleting the purchase, not the data

Deleting your profile or the app does not cancel a subscription. If you have a yearly subscription, manage or cancel it in Apple Account subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Existing lifetime unlocks remain one-off purchases with no renewal. Refunds go through the store you bought from — Apple or Google Play. Do email us first if something is wrong; we can often sort it out directly.
